Holy Family Update: March 19, 2020
Greetings of Peace!
Here are some updates for our community as we continue journeying together in the faith at these challenging times:
Liturgy and Worship
: With the cancellation of Public Masses, the Parish Staff are going to lead us in a Private Mass celebrated in the Church during the weekend. It will be livestreamed through Facebook Live and YouTube. It will be live at 5:30 PM in our
Holy Family Catholic Parish and School
Facebook account and will be posted there and on our website via YouTube afterwards. The Church at this time will be closed to the public.
We are also going to post our weekday private mass held at the Chapel, Wednesday through Friday, at 12 noon on our website and Facebook pages (around 12:30 PM). Please join us on these occasions.
: For our elderly parishioners who need help doing errands for them like grocery shopping, we have a list of people willing to help at this time. Please call the parish on how we can help you. 503-774-1428
For individuals and families in our parish that need help with rent, utilities and food, please call our St. Vincent de Paul chapter. Here are their instructions:
Holy Family’s St Vincent de Paul chapter is offering to assist anyone in the parish with food or rental/utility assistance, to the extent we can, during this most difficult time. Simply call one of our chapter co-Presidents and they will swing into action to provide the needed assistance. Their phone numbers are listed in the church bulletin. If you know of friends or relatives outside the parish who might need similar such assistance, please have them contact the Emergency Services Division of the SVDP Council’s main office at 503-595-2290. Please continue to pray for those affected by the corona virus.
: I would like to encourage our Parishioners to still continue with your offertory giving as we have to pay the bills and the staff even at this time. Our offertory collection last Sunday was $1057.00. We need funds more than ever as we already projected a $75K loss on normal circumstances. I thank you in advance for your generosity and concern to our Holy Family even at this difficult time.
You can mail your envelopes to the Office or you can use our other Giving options. You can give via automatic monthly bank deductions through ACH (Automatic Clearing House), where funds are safely and electronically transferred from your checking or savings account to Holy Family. The bank does the transactions and keep the information for the parish. The form is attached. The parish greatly recommends this form of giving.
For ease you may also utilize the following:

May God bless and protect you always,

What Our Pope has asked for TODAY
March 19, feast of St.. Joseph, husband of Mary.
At the end of the General Audience March 18, Pope Francis asked every family, every member of the faithful, and every religious community to pray the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary at 1 PM PST on March 19, the Feast of St. Joseph, with the following intention:
Mary — Mother of God and Health of the Sick, to whom we direct the Rosary under the loving gaze of St. Joseph, Protector of the Holy Family and our families — bring us to the luminous and transfigured Face of Christ and his Heart. And we ask that he especially protect our families, in particular, the sick and those who care for them: doctors, nurses, and volunteers, who risk their lives in this service
LUMINOUS MYSTERIES are:
The Baptism of the Lord
The Wedding Feast at Cana
The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
The Institution of the Eucharist
Oregon Healthy Authority
Centers for Disease Control
World Health Organization
